As healthcare practitioners and employees move through the continuum of care, their respective functions are becoming more sophisticated and technology driven. This has placed a greater challenge on the human resources function to develop stricter workers’ compensation guidelines to closely monitor and minimize employment-related exposures. In order to maintain control of employee accidents and injuries, the Workers’ Compensation Manager must track all accidents as they occur, monitor the employee’s time lost from work, determine compensation payable based on state-wide regulations, expedite the claim/payout process, and implement ongoing measures to control future employee-related accidents.
